The Elder Scrolls Online General Leveling Tips for All Classes

The article below covers only some parts of classes in the Elder Scrolls Online . For something more extensive, I would recommend this manual which was put together by a group of expert gamers. It's a leveling guide slash game walkthrough that focuses on power leveling and strongest build for 4 classes. It helped me advance through the game with in-depth tips and expert advice. I really recommend you to get your own copy of the guide.

The Elder Scrolls is easily known as one of the biggest names in RPG (role-playing game) history. When news came that this iconic franchise would be throwing its hat into the proverbial MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) ring, fans went berserk. With The Elder Scrolls Online, game developers Bethesda have managed to take the beloved aspects of their Elder Scrolls games and successfully translate them to the MMORPG stage. Along with many of the Elder Scrolls mechanics, one of the most intriguing aspects is the game’s leveling system.

eso gameplay

The Elder Scrolls Online levelling system is mostly relatively familiar to most RPG players: you gain experience whenever you accomplish anything such as defeating a player or NPC, or completing a quest etc for solo player. Of course, you could always go the tough industrious route and just kill as many enemies as possible. But there are other ways to go about it. What makes Elder Scrolls Online so different is that it incorporates the skill level system that made the previous games such a joy to play. If you’re unfamiliar with the system it involves a series of skills that you can increase by performing the skill regularly. For example, you increase your blocking skill by blocking during battle. It’s a very intuitive yet intricate system that provides the player with a unique experience.

One of the best ways to level-up your character is to not waste any time. Always make sure you’re doing something productive. That way, character is always improving. But a strong character can only start from a strong build. The key to a strong build is to create one that fits your play style and then sticking with it. It may be tempting to change your build later on, but by keeping the same build throughout your playthrough, you will become more familiar with that build and also achieve better success. Also, you should make sure your build is attuned to your play style. It’s important to know yourself as a gamer and to cater to your usual style of playing. For example, if you know that you have trouble defending, make sure your character’s health and defensive skills are high.

There are loads of ways to level-up fast such as grinding dungeons and mobs of enemies, or even following the main quest line which should automatically propel your character forward. If you ever feel like you need an in-depth guide, there are also many guides you can get as an add-on as seen in my review article here.

KillerGuides’ Unofficial Elder Scrolls Online Leveling Guide

KillerGuides has released their newest guide, the Elder Scrolls Online Leveling Guide, for the highly anticipated Elder Scrolls Online. After reading through the guide, I think that this should be one of the most detailed guides from this company. The guide is separated in to 5 main sections: leveling, build and skill rotation, quest walkthrough, dungeon, and gold making strategy.  For me, section I love the most is the leveling section. There, I found every tip and trick to reach the level cap in the quickest way possible.

Insider Leveling Tips and Builds

My first character was a Bosmer (Wood Elf) Nightblade of the The Aldmeri Dominion. I chose that race and class because they make good archers and thieves. I love to sneak around and attack from afar. Since Elder Scrolls Online really stresses PvP and PvE, I figured a stealthy character with a range weapon would be a great way to get the upper hand on my enemies. What truly helped me out was having this manual from KillerGuides at my side. With every new level, the guide has a multitude of new quests, or dungeons, or mobs that are perfect for your character at that moment in time. This could help me level up my Nightblade 5 times than before and reach max level within a week.

Even though any race and class can utilize any weapon or skill, reading about which combinations of races and classes go best together helped me to get an early jump on the competition. I didn’t have to worry about figuring out which weapons and armor were the best for sneaking and archery because the guide told me exactly where to find everything.  Tamriel is a cutthroat, wild world. Regardless of which race and class you choose, KillerGuides will make sure that you stay alive.

elder scrolls online leveling guideAdditional Benefits

Elder Scrolls Online is a relatively new game, so you can be sure that the leveling guide is the most up-to-date material out there. Hardcore, casual, or total newbie gamers will all find extremely useful information within this guide. There are a lot more than just tips and tricks on how to level up in the fastest ways possible here though. Even though the title of the guide says “leveling”, it also helps you with crafting all new kinds of armor, creating the best builds to maximize your play time, and even gearing up your character once you’ve hit the level cap. Actually one of my favorite parts of Elder Scrolls Online is that once your character hits his max level a whole new set of gear opens up, and I’m happy to say that this guide can help ensure you become one of the best great players out there.

Presentation

Their leveling guide comes in an extremely easy to use PDF format. That means you can download it and begin your path to Elder Scrolls “rockstardom” immediately. Even though lacking in the graphics department in terms of images, I still love the overall no-fluff, no-nonsense presentation of their guide.

Worth the Price? Yes.

I think the real question you should be asking yourself here is: can I really afford NOT to have the KillerGuides’ Unofficial Elder Scrolls Online Leveling Guide? After investing in Elder Scrolls Online, any gamer in their right mind would want to get the most out of their playing experience. At an easy $29.99, it’s a steal. In fact, just like my Bosmer Nightblade, I always know a good deal when I see one. Go get the guide and be amazed at the results.

Best Class Partner in ESO

The highly-anticipated Elder Scrolls Online offers players the unique opportunity to explore the Elder Scrolls universe in an MMO perspective. As with any MMO, players have the ability to explore vast regions, battle enemies and engage in thrilling quests. The Elder Scrolls Online sets itself apart when it comes to classes, giving players distinctly more flexibility and customization for their characters. Giving the ability to team up with other players, choosing the best class partner is important to consider.

Each class, while very flexible, offers certain roles for certain situations. When deciding the best class partners, players should take into account many things, including the advantage and disadvantages of a certain class, the quest or mission they’re on, the types of enemies they’re up against, skill trees and other factors.

The four classes in the Elder Scrolls Online include Sorcerers, Dragon Knights, Nightblades, and Templars. While classes are somewhat more restrictive in terms of skills compared to other Elder Scrolls games, each class has excellent flexibility when it comes to weapon and armor types. It’s important to consider the differences between each class when choosing the right partner in the world of Tamriel.

Best Class Partner in ESO

The Sorcerer is a ranged damage dealing class that emphasizes magic, firepower and ranged attacks. Able to specialize in buffing its magic attacks, summoning and dark magic, the Sorcerer is able to dish out massive amounts of damage in a limited time. The class is best used as a partner in situations that require extensive damage dealing in a short amount of time. Sorcerers are great when partnered with tanks like Dragon Knights, creating a powerful duo that can dish out enormous amounts of damage behind the protection of a defensive tank.

The Dragon Knight specializes in damage dealing, close quarters combat and tanking. Although flexible, the Dragon Knight’s primary role is that of a tank and melee damage dealer. The class is best partnered with ranged damage dealers like Sorcerers to tank and shield the other player from damage, while partnering with a Templar is also a great strategy for sustained damage dealing over time.

Nightblades are a unique class that acts as the game’s premier assassin. Specializing in stealth and melee damage, Nightblades are best paired with tanks like Dragon Knights or classes that emphasize healing like Templars.

The Templar is a multipurpose class that can heal as well as tank and dish out damage. It is best partnered with ranged damage dealers like Sorcerers or melee assassins like Nightblades, both combinations of which offer a flexible, versatile combination for tanking, healing and damage dealing.

There are four classes in The Elder Scrolls Online. Each class can specialize in a variety of roles and use whichever weapon types and armor types they prefer, but each class also has a unique feel and playstyle. Each class has three class skill lines to pick and choose active and passive abilities from which will help each individual character stand out from each other.

Templar

The Templar is a holy warrior who uses the power of the sun to smite enemies, protect their allies and heal themselves and everyone around them when the need arises. Templars are a flexible eso class that can choose to go all-out offensively as either a ranged class or a melee class or can choose to heal their allies or take on the role of a tank. Their three skill lines allow them to pick and choose various defensive, healing and offensive talents.

The Templar is also one of the game’s pure healing classes and excels in both group situations and solo situations. Their soloing capabilities and healing abilities make them a fantastic asset to any instance or dungeon environment. Templars may find themselves healing on occasion if no other class is available to do so.

Sorcerer

The Sorcerer is primarily a caster who can can choose between various types of purely offensive talents and abilities or skills that are more supportive in nature. They are also ESO’s only pet-based class. They have one full skill line dedicated to pets and pet damage. Pets are useful for helping the Sorcerer solo and level quickly but are generally not tuned with group gameplay in mind.

Despite the fact that the Sorcerer is primarily a caster, they are still extremely flexible in nature. By swapping between various staff weapons, they change which elemental spells they use and can even quickly turn into a healer by equipping a restoration staff. The main offensive elements are ice, fire and lightning. The Sorcerer can also equip all types of weapons and armor to increase their flexibility, survivability and combat options.

Nightblade

The Nightblade is the rogue/assassin class in Elder Scrolls Online. They can equip all types of weapons and armor, but they are most proficient when dual wielding daggers, one-handed axes or swords. They are masters of stealth and sneaking and can even sneak mid-combat and attack enemies when behind the shadows.

The three skill lines for Nightblades are based around dealing damage, utility and self-heals and damage-over-time abilities. Nightblades can mix talents and passives to create builds efficient for soloing, leveling, grouping and doing as much damage as possible. They are most proficient at dealing high amounts of single-target damage.

Dragonknight

Dragonknights are the iconic warrior class of Elder Scrolls Online and can either serve as a tank or a hard-hitting melee DPS class. They can use all different types of weapons and armor. The three skill lines for Dragonknights are divided among mitigating and avoiding damage, DPS and utility and support. The utility line is based off earth elemental attacks while the DPS line is based off fire abilities and iconic dragon-themed abilities.

While DPS Dragonknights will typically wish to use standard melee weapons such as two-handed swords, axes or maces or dual wield, they can also use weapons such as a fire staff to expand their fire-based arsenal and deal large amounts of damage. While tanking, Dragonknights can use DPS weapon styles or use a one-handed weapon and a shield. Dragonknights deal a large amount of area-of-effect damage especially and are fantastic solo levelers and allies for dungeons and groups.

Synergy skills are going to be a large part of the Elder Scrolls Online. These are skills that players will only be able to use while working together on a team. These skills are not necessarily going to be required to beat encounters but they will be a major part of the game and can make the difference between defeating a boss quickly and struggling with a boss for hours.

templar utilizing javelin skillSynergy skills are essentially skills that players who are teammates will only be able to utilize while they are together. Synergy skills will not be required in order to beat the game but they will assist the team in getting through scenarios much more quickly. Especially in an instance such as a dungeon. These skills are going to vary from eso class to class and, although the specifics on many class abilities have not been revealed nor their particular skill synergies, this ability to combine skills is going to prove to be one of the things that makes the Elder Scrolls Online so fun and interesting.

Successfully completing synergy skills will allow your team to earn finesse points. These points will allow your team to kill faster, gain more experience points while leveling in teso, and recharge their ultimate abilities quicker. Also, interrupting abilities of enemies, blocking harmful attacks, using the dodge ability, and using these synergy skills will allow your character to gain bonuses in combat. There are also particular special rewards that have not been revealed by the developers yet. Players can turn in finesse points (or these points could be counted automatically) for these rewards. These rewards will quite possibly end up being something like achievements or unique titles or could possibly be something else entirely.

The synergy skill seems to be aimed at rewarding players who contribute to their team. Also for communication with party members. There is also a hint of reward due to the particular build of a person’s character for paying enough attention to make an effective build. Also rewarding players for utilizing skills that may not be used otherwise.

Synergy skills are quite possibly going to be one of the most major aspects to the popularity of Elder Scrolls Online. Although the abilities of the classes are not as of yet disclosed to the public, skill synergies are already one of the most popular aspects of this game. It may be one of the highest contributing factors that will allow the Elder Scrolls Online to compete with the current ruling massive online games.

The Elder Scrolls Online is a Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) game. It’s a spin-off of the popular The Elder Scrolls (TES) series of video games. Unlike other MMO, you are free to develope your class to whatever you want to be. There are four classes in the game which are Dragonknight, Nightblade, Templar and Sorcerer. The warrior class would be the Dragonknight. They are built for melee combat, and possess skills that help in combat only. The Nightblade would be considered an assassin type. The Templar would be a Healer, and the Sorcerer as the name suggests is a Mage. Each class will have their own unique skill lines, but they could have the same skill line from weapon, guild and so on.

Which is the best support class?
In case of using skills to determine alone, the Sorcerer wins. Many people would think that the Templar should be better at support with their numerous skills to heal or buff. They are all important, but the Sorcerer could support more as this class is good at both dealing damage and supporting allies.

mage with storm spellMaster of ESO class the sorcerer is able to keep all their friends’ hands clean and keep them away from the danger of melee combat. The sorcerer has numerous powerful damage dealing spells to kill hordes of enemies at distance or defending magics too keep allies away from danger as well. Spells like Encase, Repulse or Daedric Mines are very good for stopping enemy movement. Plus, enemy’s magical attack could be easily negated by Sorcerer’s skill called “Negate Magic“.

With Winged Twilights and Storm Atronachs, the Sorcerer could summon powerful minions from thin air to help them fight hand to hands. There are a lot of skills to improve attributes. Overload and Surge are good at incresing damage while Lightning Form giving higher armor ratings while dealing damage to nearby enemies at the same time. Important resources for keep spamming spells like Magicka could be replenished fastly with Blood Magic, Dark Exchange and Daedric Protection will take care of these needs.

The Sorcerer is truly a versantile class. While the DragonKnight or Templar are busy with tanking, they’ll get the most support from the Sorcerer.

Trying to figure out which class is best for a solo adventure is easy. It may differ depending on the person, but one thing is for certain; there is only one class that encompasses every skill necessary to ensure your character’s personal survival is kept at the highest standard. The Nightblade class is the best choice for those lone wolf types. Not only are your skills geared towards speed, rather than strength, but the Nightblade class is renown for the ability to survive through a skillful combination of cunning and tricky fighting styles.

The skill lines associated with the Nightblade class speak for themselves. You have the choice between Assassin, Siphoning, and Shadow. Sure, some of the characteristics associated with this class may not be the most positive, but that’s the point of choosing this line of work for your character. The Nightblade class is meant to look out for themselves, which is what makes them the best choice for working on a solo mission, rather than having to look out for and work with others. This does not necessarily mean that to choose the Nightblade class in a group will mean that you cannot help out. It simply means that this class may very well be the most flexible class type you could hope to have.

Stealth is key with the Nightblade class. The Assassination and Shadow skill lines highlight this fact well. The Nightblade class is usually associated with the Dark Brotherhood, due to its affiliation with these skill lines. Still, whether you would hope to join the Dark Brotherhood or not, you have the potential to survive the longest with this class. This is thanks to the potentially skillful utilization of stealth, speed, and wit.

It’s important to take into account about your own reasoning for choosing your particular class type. It should match with your favorite gaming style that is varied from person to person. If you love to slay a large group of enemies at once, you should go with the class has a lot of crowd control abilities such as the sorcerer. On the other hand, if you love to support your friend instead of killing monsters, templar might be good for you due to its abilities to provide life support for their fellow players. Then again, the best advice is to stick with what you know best. It means that you should play with something you’re most familiar with and when it is appropriate to step beyond your realm of comfort to learn something new and challenging.

A skill line is a thematic connection of abilities a character can use throughout Elder Scrolls Online. Not only have the creators added new types of skills and abilities, they have included new ways to advance those skills as you gain experience and explore the huge, online world.

There are three different types of skill lines available. Skills such as weapons and armor are universal and available to all characters. There are also three skill lines unique to each individual class. The universal and class-specific skill lines are available when you begin the game, but there are several skill lines you can discover and unlock as you progress within the game. For example, discoverable skill lines are unlocked by joining the Mages’ Guild or becoming a vampire.

dragonknight skill line

Example of the Dragonknight Skill Line

Each skill line contains a series of abilities available to your character. By using abilities or reading books that relate to a skill line, the skill line advances. Advancing skill lines grants experience, which is how a character levels up. Each time a character levels up, that character is granted a skill point which can be used to learn a new ability within a skill line. As more skill points are spent within a skill line, more abilities become available as the skill line progresses. Additional skill points can also be earned by finding Skyshards hidden throughout the world. There is no limitation to advancement in any skill line, so you are free to master all skill lines available to your character.

Two new features have been added to skill lines that were not available in previous Elder Scroll games: morphing and ultimate abilities. Once a skill line has advanced far enough, you will have an option to morph that ability. You are given two morphing options, and, once morphed, the specific abilities within that skill line are forever altered. There are also ultimate abilities that become available once a skill line is nearly mastered. These ultimate abilities are race and class specific. Meaning that Dragonknight ultimate skill will be different from the templar’s. Plus, they cost no mana or stamina to use. Instead, the power to use an ultimate must be earned in combat. Once the power to use an ultimate ability is charged up, the character can unleash devastating attacks or hide behind unbreakable defenses.

This is a good overview of skill lines and abilities, but further questions regarding skill lines or the abilities found within them should be directed to elderscrollsonline.com.

Let’s talk about the Nightblade, another playable class in Elder Scrolls Online of which very little information is known, if any at all. This article will try to give the best description and information as possible, for you to make your class decision just that much easier when creating a character in Elder Scrolls Online. It is a quick rundown of what you can expect when the game launches, based on past knowledge of the Nightblade.

Contrary to what some may think, the Nightblade is not purely a rogue, thief, or assassin. Although he has the qualities to be all of those 3, Nightblade has his own little flair, and that’s Magic. If you’ve played previous MMOs and you’ve enjoyed a class that can kill from afar, a ranger or sorcerer, but have also had some enjoyment in the classes that can perform quick little engages in combat like a rogue, then the Nightblade is perfect for you. Not only is he equipped with fast DPS abilities, but he’s usually accompanied with destruction magic. A typical Nightblade could decide to use his destruction magic to engage in combat with a life-draining spell, and then quickly dispatch his enemy with his blades.

On top of that, the Nightblade is one of the most mobile classes in Elder Scrolls Online, wearing medium armor such as leather. With their agility and stamina, they are able to chase down their opponents. Stamina, partnered with health, is their key to survival. Nightblades in previous test games were typically seen with Illusion, Sneak, Destruction, and light armor, which gives you somewhat of an idea of what you could see in Elder Scrolls Online. The class will not be equipped with any disguises or anything, because like the Sneak, that’s merely an item that any class can wear.

You might be asking, “What is the point to the Nightblade if his core abilities and function that make a Nightblade a Nightblade are shared by all the classes?” It’s the fact that right from the launch of ESO, we know that there are 4 classes: Dragonknight, Templar, Sorcerer, and Nightblade. The Dragonknight and his abilities mainly focus around tanking, some damage, and CC. The Templar is seen as the healer or Paladin class, and the Sorcerer as a strong damage class. But DPS is missing in the abovementioned. The Nightblade fully completes the whole circle, since it is the only real, fast attacking, good DPS class.

If you’d rather sit back, survey the scene, maybe take a few bow-and-arrow shots before engaging in combat, and then proceeding to kill everyone with quick attacks, running and weaving through the field of battle; then you can expect to see yourself in the shoes of a Nightblade.
