Basic Sorcerer Spells and Combos in the ESO

The article below covers only some parts of classes in the Elder Scrolls Online . For something more extensive, I would recommend this guide which was put together by a group of expert gamers. Elder Scrolls Online Sorcerer is a class with extraordinary control over the arcane arts and is known for its abilities to summon Daedric allies or use the natural elements to manipulate and destroy their adversaries. Although the Sorcerer is a great solo class, if you pop him down with a group, especially with the templar, that’s when we get to see his full potential in which he can sacrifice his defensive capabilities with a more offensive role; combining his own abilities to create powerful synergies with his allies.

Abilities

There are 3 known abilities of the Sorcerer, each belonging in their respective skill paths: Encase, Unstable Familiar, and Mage’s Fury.

1. Encase
Encase immobilizes an enemy directly in front of you for a short period of time. This ability is just a snare, but when used with abilities, can be used to strike down an opponent before they even get to you.

2. Unstable Familiar
Unstable Familiar summons an imp for a period of 1 minute, which will attack anything you attack, dealing a portion of your character’s weapon damage. There has been some speculation as to whether or not the time limit will be removed or increased, as it is fairly short which may discourage people from proceeding down that skill line.

3. Mage’s Fury
The next ability, Mage’s Fury, calls down lightning from the sky to impale them with magic damage, and enemies below 20% health are dealt additional damage.

Just by obtaining these 3 skills, I already see a really deadly combo. For instance, say you’re walking along and you spot a Dragonknight a little distance away. He hasn’t seen you yet, so you can immediately summon your imp with Unstable Familiar, and then snare him with Encase. Now you have your imp attacking him while he is snared. All you have to do is bring about your Mage’s Fury and stab him with lightning. As there are no cooldowns, you can keep on using this ability relentlessly, as long as you watch your magic bar. The combo may seem a little boring once repeated multiple times, but just keep in mind; you can obtain all these abilities before you even hit Level 7. Just imagine all these abilities and all the combos out there, not to mention the Ult you will get before that, which hasn’t even been stated yet.

This class guide will talk about some specific traits and abilities that the Templar, yet another playable class in the Elder Scrolls Online, is entitled to.

The Templar focuses primarily around the Sun and Light, and is typically seen as more of the defensive-type champion who has inherited the power of the sun to aid itself and its allies during combat, as well as conquering foes with his magic. A person who thinks the Templar might be a good fit for them or feels that a Templar is their type, is the guy who knows how to divide his responsibility during combat. What this means is, the user has to know when to dive in and go, have the agro all on himself, letting his allies deal with the damage, and when to back off, look at the scene, and know who to heal.

The Templar is dubbed as the Paladin of Elder Scrolls Online, because the class has a whole skill pack that focuses on healing. Not only will you see the Templar running around with a sword and shield smiting enemies with its light, but you’ll also be seeing a lot of healing going on from that class.

Skills

There are 5 known skills of the Templar class. Think of these names as place holders, because Elder Scrolls Online is still in closed beta. The names and abilities all could possibly change, but these are the 5 known abilities that have been stated in numerous posts: Piercing Strike, Sun Fire, Rushed Ceremony, Sun Strike, and his ultimate, Radial Sweep.

1. Piercing Strike

Piercing Strike, or as some other people call it, Puncturing Strike, summons a magical spirit which quickly deals 4 attacks toward the enemy, with the last hit knocking back the closest enemy towards you. This is great for regular day-to-day fighting, as it does a good set amount of damage with a knockback making it great for taking and keeping your enemies at bay.

2. Sun Fire

Sun Fire fires a projectile to do strong magic damage and snares the target. According to esolevelguide.com, this is just a perfect 2-ability combo, where you first use Sun Fire to snare the target, then immediately use Piercing Strike to deal with the multiple attacks while he is snared and cannot move out of range. The enemy may sacrifice some stamina to break out of this snare and try to counterattack by damaging you with one of his own attacks, but that’s where your third ability comes in, Rushed Ceremony.

3. Rushed Ceremony

This ability is simply a heal which can quickly heal yourself or an ally mid-combat without having to worry about long casting times and cooldowns, as there are no cooldowns in this game. Now that the Templar is all healed up, it can potentially just use the previous abilities and repeat that simple combo.

4. Sun Strike

This is really similar to just a regular auto-attack, in that you can cast it frequently with little to no magic expenditures.

5. Radial Sweep

Once your Templar is all healed up and his enemy, in this case a Dragonknight, uses its gap-closer to try and take the Templar out. You can immediately snare the Dragonknight, as he is now right in front of you, using Piercing Strike to deal some quick blows. By then, he may have just panicked and used stamina to break out, which would then give you enough time to use Rushed Ceremony. Now you’re healed and the Dragonknight is somewhat low on stamina; his main fuel of fight. You can then use the ultimate Radial Sweep. There is some speculation as to what the actual name of the ultimate is and whether or not it even exists, but we’ll assume it does, as many have stated it. This ability sweeps the area around you in a 5-meter radius and deals damage to all the enemies it connects with, as well as healing yourself for a portion of the damage dealt. That’s a pretty nice combo to use throughout your first 6 levels. Keep in mind that most fights aren’t going to turn out as smoothly and well-planned as above, and most times, you may even find yourself panicking and having to stamina-break out of your own snare that you get caught in.
